We are all guilty of it no matter how hard we try and no matter our good intentions, we all lose focus while driving. there are so many distractions while driving, other passengers in the car, looking at our phones, eating, etc. we don’t mean to take our eyes off the road and we certainly don’t ever want to be the cause of an accident. Automated emergency braking was designed to take one aspect of human error, distractability, out of the equation. The technology uses radars, lasers, and/or external visual cameras to take control of the vehicle and stop the vehicle if it detects that a collision is about to happen. Lane changes are an essential part of driving while on the highway. The heavier the traffic the faster a person must be able to change lanes. Blind-spot monitoring uses ultra-sonic sensors and radars to detect vehicles in the space a driver cannot see. The light that flashes alerting the driver there is something in that blind-spot could keep the driver from switching lanes and causing an accident.
